Community Involvement and Public Information

This page is dedicated to providing the community with timely and pertinent information regarding fire safety and prevention, community programs sponsored by the station, and as a resource for information on the department.

We encourage all members of the community to develop fire safety plans for their households, workplaces, and to be proactive in their safety. The best safety practice is to be prepared; have emergency escape plans for your home, tech your kids to meet at a predetermined meeting place outside your home in case of a fire, use smoke detectors, purchase and regularly maintain a fire extinguisher, keep a document with all pertinent medical and prescription medication information in an easy to reach place in case of illness or injury, and take photos of family members (especially kids) and update them regularly. In the case of a disaster, these last two steps can greatly improve the chances of saving lives and reuniting family members.

The Quad City VOLUNTEER - our quarterly newsletter

As part of our Community Involvement and Public Information program, we now publish a quarterly newsletter, The Quad City VOLUNTEER, to keep the community informed of recent events at our department. In addition to being filled with many helpful articles aimed specifically for the members of this community, the newsletter also features stories relating to our department including its personnel, history, recent accomplishments, and other information.
